30 hours of travelling ahead........

I'm no John Joe Nevin, and by that I mean I'm not a great traveller so the prospect of a 12 hour flight tomorrow has me as nervous as Red Rum at a barbeque. First it's a short hop to London and then half a day later we'll arrive in Johannesburg sometime on Saturday morning. 6 hours driving later, we should arrive in Maseru, capital of Lesotho, Deo Volente........................................................ (right, I'll wait here while most of you google that one).
I'll try to post something on this blog most days as it will be my only contact with the outside world for the 2 weeks. My phone doesn't work over there, I'm on the Three network so I'm lucky to have it work in Ireland to be honest. The local language (as well as English) is Sesotho and having googled some "useful" phrases on this site Useful Sesotho Phrases I'm a little alarmed that very high up on the list of translated phrases, featuring soon after "hello" and "my name is" are the words "help" and "toilet". Let's hope I don't need to use those words in the same sentence. Even more worryingly the word that follows after toilet is the Sesotho for "sorry". I fear it could be a long 2 weeks!
